My intention
These past few years have been transitional and disconnected from my Miami base.
Looking forward to my comeback and gathering once again with all of you in what is an exceptional community of people seeking health and wellness for themselves and the planet. I missed you but have you all in my heart and my radar. Namaste! Banga Samidah! ____________________ My life has been an incredible journey that has taken me from Buenos Aires to Miami, Mexico and NY and back around again, filled with obstacles, hurdles, adventure, and opportunities and above all love. I hope to bring you a bit what I have learned along the way, as a student, as teacher and as friend. My Vinyasa (a flow of breath and movement) classes are for everyone, of all levels, ages, states of mind and heart. I begin with a gentle stream of connecting to the breath, becoming present and then, through movement, gradually build into powerful, challenging but playful asana sequencing. We breathe, sweat, even laugh a bit, and align yourself with transformation. I throw in options to challenge that defender in all of us or take a "less is more" approach. This allows tailoring of the pose to fit where you feel comfortable, so everyone can share in the journey on the mat, and arrive together to a sweet gentle landing in Savasana (supine stillness). I'm inspired by the poetry of movement and the marriage of the breath with asana to expand our compassionate heart. My intention is to help you build a solid foundation for alignment, strength, balance and peacefulness that you can take off the mat into the world. My personal practice includes the rainbow of Raja yoga traditions: Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Bikram, Skanda, Naam, Jivamukti, Anusara, and Nidra, among others, which have evolved in the East-West migration. As my own practice grows, my teaching style does too, as I learn from the teachers who came before me… and from my students who are my constant teachers, my sangha, my family of friends, my gifts that return the joy of this wonderful dance of yoga together. We share a vision of making the best of our lives and our practice brings us together in that spirit. I am honored to participate in the Jhana - the knowledge - of yoga by being part of the critical mass for possible peace on earth. Out beyond right and wrong doing, in that ever present field... Meet you there. |
My personal choices
_I began my journey
towards stillness some two decades ago, after having three daughters,
becoming aware of the responsibility and love that is born from
mothering.
I am a vegan for healthful, socio-ecological reasons and to honor my own observance of the Yamas and Niyamas of Yoga. My spiritual heritage is varied but I find the most powerful spiritual practice is the simple observance of one’s breath. In Miami, I teach Vinyasa, Power Yoga (some like it hot some like it cold), & and what I call Mandala Flow and Nidra/Gentle Yoga, with studios and yoga affiliated venues around town. My Reiki classes are part of teacher training for yoga studios around Miami and am available for private workshops. I am fully dedicated to this shared journey of transformation as Yoga Instructor, Traditional Reiki Master and Peace Worker, and chose to follow (and lead with) my heart and breath in every choice I make.
